The 10th edition of the Euro-Mediterranean Garment exhibition TEXMED 2009, which was held from 10th to 12th of June 2009 in Tunis, has confirmed once again its position as a leading exhibition of the Mediterranean southern shore with a diversified offer, through the new concept which gathered 250 exhibitors (including 60 foreigners) and which allowed to achieve the objective laid down in terms of exhibitors number for the 2009 session.
On the level of the 7 exhibition villages, the organizers recorded the participation of 124 exhibitors in the clothing space devoted to the villages of jean and sportswear, ready-made clothes, underwear and swimwear, working clothes and knitwear, 71 exhibitors in fabrics and accessories and about 55 services and creation companies and institutional organizations.
Texmed renewed offer attracted 2625 visitors (2563 in 2008) with a 2.4% increase compared to the Texmed 2008.
654 foreign visitors from 27 countries visited Texmed versus 656 visitors last year which explains the textile clothing professionals’ interest to TEXMED despite a difficult international economic situation.
France is ranked first among international visitors followed by Italy, Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Turkey, Portugal, The Netherlands, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Jordan…
The presence of representatives of big international brands such as MASSIMO DUTTI, MAX MARA, VALENTINO, UNITED COLORS OF BENETTON and others has testified to the attractive positioning of both Tunisia’s site and Texmed exhibition.
On the evaluation side, the total satisfaction rate of exhibitors and visitors gained 0.5 point in 2009 with a rate of 61.5% (against 61% in 2008).

The evaluation figure has revealed TEXMED’s capacity to keep its visitors fidelity, and has showed that 78% of them already project to visit the 2010 edition; this percentage is about 70% on the level of the exhibitors (same figure of 2008).
